Why does my patient need a hand therapist?

 

A hand therapist is an occupational therapist or physiotherapist specialised in rehabilitating only those patients with hand and upper limb injuries. The only patients we see are those with hand, wrist, elbow, and / or shoulder injuries. This means that we have a specialised knowledge of upper limb anatomy, disorders, and treatment methods that most generic rehabilitation professionals cannot provide. As Certified Hand Therapists, we can evaluate and identify any condition related to the upper extremity.
